Guinea, Republic of

Nikolai Rimksy-Korsakov(1844-1908), Russian composer, entered the College of Naval Cadets in St.Petersburg, but he also studied music encouraged and helped by Mily Balakirev. Later he met Cui, Mussorgsky, Borodin and became one of the members of "The Mighty Five". He was professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, also conducted Imperial Orchestra and Russian Symphony. He composed 15 operas, and orchestral music. His most popular work is the symphonic poem-"Scheherezade".
